IES Solar is a local Colorado solar company that believes in an integrated approach to assessing energy needs. We are dedicated to helping homeowners and business owners save money and reduce carbon energy consumption for a cleaner future.

Our experienced team designs, installs, finances, and monitors affordable solar energy solutions for homes and businesses throughout Colorado. RICH GRANGE / Principal

Rich has been involved in the high tech (Telecom) and real estate development business for 26 years. As the founder and former CEO of New Global Telecom (www.ngt.com) for 10 years Rich lead the growth of the company from startup to in excess of $200 million in 3 years. Selling a controlling interest to Comcast and a group of private equity investors, Rich retired from NGT in 2006. Rich was a principal in the re-development and construction of the Clear Creek Square infill project in downtown Golden which included 72 multifamily residential units and 72,000 square feet of office/retail space. Rich has been a principal in the development and construction of an additional 50 single and multi family units. Rich is currently CEO of Meridian Telecom International, Chairman of the Board of Ekofon Inc. and a board member of Vidtel Inc. Rich and his wife and 3 kids.

BRAD SMITH / Principal

Brad has been involved in the construction industry for 24 years and is the owner of Terra Firma Custom Homes www.terrafirmacustomhomes.com Terra Firma was one of Grand County first certified Green Builders and winner of the Grand County Parade of Homes Peoples Choice award for the best home for all 5 consecutive years of the parade. Brad has extensive experience in the residential and commercial construction trades and general contracted the development and construction of 56 multi and single family units valued in excess of $50 million. Brad lives in Grand County with his wife and two children and is a very active in the community.

ERIK BOWMAN / General Manager

Erik’s background includes Colorado Regional Manager for Akeena Solar, one the largest solar integrators in the country. His experience as a General Contractor and as a PM for Siemens Engineering managing projects valued in excess of $200M provides specific experience required to effectively complete large scale projects in a timely and efficient manner. Member of CoSEIA, Member. CoSEIA PV policy committee, Member of the PV Technical Advisory Committee for the Governor’s Energy Office. Wife and 4 children reside in Highlands Ranch.

NICK PERUGINI / Senior Account Manager

Nick’s two years of professional experience in the solar and energy efficiency industry is built on a foundation of skills acquired through 18 years of sales, project management, and business owner perspectives. His knowledge of products and system integration are valuable assets to our team and help facilitate strong client loyalty. He has orchestrated over $2 million in solar energy solutions along the Front Range in the last 18 months. Nick has lived in Broomfield with his wife & 3 kids for 15 years.

MATTHEW WORSWICK / Director of Product Development

Matt has been involved in solar design and energy efficiency for 30 years in Colorado. He holds degrees in both Environmental Studies and Solar Energy Technology. As principal in Synergy Design for over 25 years, Matt has provided energy saving architectural designs for over 250 projects, including 6 sustainability oriented co-housing communities, custom solar homes and energy efficient additions. He has worked as a consultant for the Governor’s Energy Office, analyzing building performance and educating large construction companies regarding how they can increase their energy efficiency measures and green building products. Over the years, Matt has served on several non-profit boards, written numerous articles and made educational presentations regarding clean energy and sustainable communities. He lives with his wife and daughter in the award winning Harmony Village community in Golden (www.harmonyvillage.org), which he designed in 1996.

BEN THACKER / Marketing Manager

Ben graduated from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder in May 2009.  He joined the team in October and has been a valuable member ever since.  Ben lives in Golden and loves to bike, hike, and run all over the beautiful state of Colorado.

BRENDAN LAWBAUGH / Project Manager

Brendan brings a lot to the IES Solar team with a diverse background ranging from medical research to regional beverage distribution. He is passionate about clean energy and providing the best solar experience for all of our customers. In his free time Brendan loves to play baseball, go mountain biking, and spend time with his family.

  NABCEP certified electrical engineer (OCT 2007) with over 4MW of systems designed both residentially and commercially.

• Installation Lead

  TROY WANECK

  Solar instructor at Arapahoe Community College and Red Rocks Community College.  NABCEP Certified with over four years of renewable energy system design and installation experience.  Owner of Solar Energy Environments, LLC solar installation company.

• Structural Engineer

  MICHAEL ZEIHELER

  Licensed CO PE. Owner of ZeIhler Engineering Services. Has performed numerous structural engineering evaluations for PV projects in the Front Range.
